"Where there is no vision, the people perish." Proverbs 29:18 Everyone has a vision for what they would like to see accomplished in their lifetime. Whether it is financial, spiritual, family, or educational goals, we all have dreams.
Dreams are not just for individuals. They are also for organizations. Organizations like the local church. It is not wrong to have dreams for a local church as long as those dreams are based solidly on
the bedrock of God's Word. It is not wrong to dream big dreams as long as they are sought for God's honor and glory. Remember what God said to Jeremiah, " Should you then seek great things for yourself ? Seek
them not" (Jer. 45:5, emphasis mine). In setting out on this adventure, we seek great things for God, not our ourselves. In this section of our church web page we want to introduce you to our church's credo,
mission and vision statements. A word of explanation is in order here, since these terms have been defined in different ways by the "experts." Church credo: A church
credo is not a doctrinal statement. You can view that important document on another part of our web site. The credo is subservient to the doctrinal statement in the sense that the doctrinal statement is the foundation for all we do. If our doctrine falls apart, the whole structure tumbles down. The credo simply tells you what it is that we value as a church.
Mission Statement: This is a simple
sentence that is the "driving force" of our church. It tells you in a memorable way why we exist. If you visit our church, you will see this statement in each main room of the church. Why? Because we want
each member and each attendee to know what our purpose is. Vision Statement: This is a more detailed view of what our church will look like if we are fulfilling our mission statement. This statement includes specific goals. It is our
hope that you will read these statements over and prayerfully consider them. If you are a regular attendee or member of our church, consider your role within this vision. If you are looking for a church, we hope that
you will see what makes our church unique |
