We accept the Scriptures as our sole authority in matters of faith and practice, and adopt the following Confession of Faith as our
interpretation of Bible Doctrine. 1. We believe the Scriptures of the Old and New Testament as verbally
inspired of God and inerrant in the original writings and that they are of supreme and final authority.
II Timothy 3:16-17; II Peter 1:20-21 2. We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit; three-in-one, co-equal, which is the Trinity. Hebrews 9:14; Matthew 3:16-17; I Corinthians 8:6 3. We believe that Jesus Christ was begotten of God, conceived of the Holy Spirit, and born of the Virgin Mary.
Phil. 2:6-11; John 1:1, 14; John 3:13, 16; Luke 1:31-35 4. We believe in the Holy Spirit, third person of the Trinity, who convicts the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment. He is the life of the believer, and He empowers the preaching and teaching of the Gospel. Genesis 1:2; John 14:16-17; John 16:7-14 5. We believe that man was created in the image of God, that he sinned, and thereby incurred not only physical death, but spiritual death, which is separation from God; and that all human beings are born with a sinful nature and those who reach moral responsibility become sinners in thought, word and deed. Genesis 1:26-27; Ezekiel 18:4; I Corinthians 15:22; Romans 5:12, 14, 17; Romans 6:23
6. We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures as a representative and substitutionary sacrifice, and that all who believe in Him are justified on the grounds of His shed blood. I Jn. 4:10; I Corinthians 15:3; Matthew 20:28; I Jn. 2:2; I Peter 1:18-19;
Hebrews 1:3; I Cor. 15:4; Acts 1:9; Hebrews 7:24-8:6
Mat. 24:27-31, 36; Mat. 25:31; Col. 3:4; I Thes. 3:13; Jude 14; Zech. 14:4-5
Heb. 9:27; Acts 24:15; I Cor. 15:12-58; II Cor. 4:14; Isaiah 14:12-14; John 8:44; I John 3:8; I Peter 5:8; Rev. 20:10 11. We believe that all who repent and receive by faith the Lord Jesus Christ are born again of the Holy Spirit, and thereby they become children of God, heirs of eternal life, and members of the universal church, the body of Christ. Acts 3:19; Acts 20:21; John 1:12; John 3:16;
12. We believe that the body of Christ, the Church, fulfills its mission through
the organized local church. The mission of the Church is to preach the Gospel to all the world, all of its endeavors being supported by the offerings of the believers. Matthew 28:18-20; Eph. 4:11-16; I Cor. 16:2; II Cor. 8 & 9 13. We believe that the ordinances of the church, given by our Lord, are Baptism and The Lord's Table.
Mat. 26:26-30; I Cor. 11:18-32; Mat. 3:13-15;
Eph. 5:22-33; Mat. 19:1-12; Mark 10:1-12; Luke 16:18; Malachi 3:16 We believe that all the foregoing are Bible Doctrines; therefore, we stand firm upon this Declaration of Faith. |
