Maybe you have made one of the following statements:

ü "I am better than most people."

ü "I am at least as good as most people."

ü "I have never killed anyone."

ü "I go to church."

ü "I am respected in my community."

ü "I gave up a bad habit several years ago, so I am better now than I     ----- - was then."

ü "I try to live by the Golden Rule."

So --  you are a good person in your own eyes.  But how good is "good"? 

For example, do you think you are good enough to go to Heaven when you die?  Again, most people would say yes.  By your own standard, you are a good person.  But whose standard really counts on judgment day?  It is not your standard.  It is God's.  He will be the Judge on that day.
